Sexual Health // Levitra (vardenafil)
Levitra is a treatment for impotence, or erectile dysfunction. Each use of Levitra
helps the patient have and maintain an erection (whenever aroused) for the next few
hours. Levitra is not a long-term treatment or cure for impotence.
How Levitra Is Used
The patient takes one Levitra pill at least 30 minutes before engaging in sexual
activities. Levitra shouldn't be used more than once a day.
How Levitra Works
Vardenafil, the active ingredient in Levitra, acts chemically to encourage blood
flow to the penis. This helps the patient have an erection when sexually aroused.
Most erection problems are related to insufficient blood flow to the penis.
Who Should and Shouldn't Use Levitra
Levitra is approved for use by adult men only. It should not be used by women.
Levitra should not be used by men with heart problems or by men who have
any sort of medical condition that makes it dangerous for them to have sex.
For further precautions, please consult your doctor.
Other Important Notes
For a full list of possible side effects, you can consult your doctor or pharmacist.
However, Levitra side effects are usually mild and go away by themselves with use.
Like most drugs, Levitra may interact chemically with certain other substances
in a way that impedes the effectivity of either drug or creates dangerous side-effects.
You should not take Levitra if you are using nitrates, alpha-blockers, or recreational
drugs called "poppers". Tell your doctor of any drugs you are using before you start
taking Levitra.
