DRUG INFORMATION

Sexual Health // Cialis (tadalafil)

Cialis is an erectile dysfunction treatment that differs from similar pills in that it remains active in the body for 36 hours after use. For the patient, this means greater spontaneity and less need to set a schedule for sexual activities.

How Cialis Is Used

There is no regular schedule for taking Cialis. The patient takes one pill of Cialis at least 60 minutes before beginning sexual intercourse (it takes a while before Cialis becomes active in the body). Cialis should be used once a day at most.

A note on pill dosage: you will see that Cialis is available in several strengths. This is because different men are affected differently by Cialis, and some require a higher dosage for Cialis to be effective. Needing a higher dosage does not mean that you have a more serious medical condition; conversely, using a higher dosage than you need will not result in better sexual performance. Simply use the lowest dosage that works for you.

How Cialis Works

The active ingredient in Cialis is called tadalafil and is a substance that works to help increase blood flow to the penis when there is sexual arousal.

Who Should and Shouldn't Use Cialis

Cialis is approved for use by adult men only, and should not be used by women. It also should not be used by men with heart problems or by men who have any sort of medical condition that makes it dangerous for them to have sex.

For further precautions, please consult your doctor.

Other Important Notes

For a full list of possible side effects, you can consult your doctor or pharmacist. However, Cialis side effects are usually mild and go away by themselves with use.

Like most drugs, Cialis may interact chemically with certain other substances in a way that impedes the effectivity of either drug or creates dangerous side-effects. Tell your doctor of any drugs you are using before you start taking Cialis.
